Sketches // Sigurjón Már Svanbergsson
Sketching is not about precision but rather about capturing the main points, form and movement on paper. To achieve this…
On Saturday, 20th May, from 3pm to 5pm, the Spanish artist Otilia Martin is holding a workshop in connection with the exhibition 'Visual Monologues', which takes place from 20th-24th May at Litla Gallerý.
There are 5 places available and participation is free. If you are interested in taking part, send us a line at litlagallery@litlagallery.is
„Sometimes words are too small, too big, too distant or cold to describe the experiences or feelings we experience. They seem too reasoned, too clinical or artificial, or perhaps they require many words to express a sensation that fades before we press a button or lift a pen.
„The “Visual Monologues' workshop provides participants with the tools to conceptualise and interpret these indescribable feelings: perhaps to cast out demons or to welcome some blessing.
In this two-hour workshop, I will guide guests through several steps with creative exercises that help participants to imagine how they feel, give shape to their sensations and depict emotions visually.
Guests will acquire tools that they can use in the future, which will help them with creative imagination, inner exploration and external expression.“
The event is sponsored by the Culture and Tourism Committee of the City of Hafnarfjörður and the Spanish Embassy in Iceland.
