Monday Crafts at Hafnarfjörður Library
Craft time in the art studio at the Learning Centre every Monday at your library! All materials provided, everyone in a good mood, and endless fun. Come along…
The Autism Coffee is held in a room at Hafnarfjörður Library. Enter through the main entrance, go straight ahead past the reception desk and down the stairs on the right. Coffee, tea and water are available, along with light refreshments. Seating is at tables arranged together in the centre of the room; we add more chairs as needed. Usually, around 10-12 people attend, though sometimes more or fewer. The group's age range is varied, but the café is open to everyone aged 18 and over.
Topics are open, and we try to keep only one conversation going at a time and keep noise to a minimum.
Please note: You are welcome to arrive late, leave early, or even leave and come back. You can send a text message (SMS) to Guðlaug, who organises the Autism Café, on 8992873 if you would like to be met at the venue or accompanied inside. We fully understand if people feel unsure. Supporters are welcome, such as a support worker, or simply a relative or friend.
The library is open until 7 p.m. and is a 5-minute walk from the Firði, where the main bus routes stop (e.g. 1 and 21). A social get-together on the terms of autistic people, open to everyone who identifies with the autism spectrum.
