Klio Writing and Editing offers writing workshops for aspiring writers at Hafnarfjörður Library. No participation fee – registration at bokasafn@hafnarfjordur.is
The course is for both beginners and more advanced students, and is led by Sæunn Una Þórisdóttir and Ásdís Káradóttir. They are literary scholars with a background in creative writing and editing who are leading a four-part creative writing course for aspiring and new writers, designed to encourage individuals to write better texts and to take criticism of their writing. The course is open to everyone and free of charge; no prior knowledge or experience is required.
The course is different from other courses for closet writers in several respects, and for example, it can be noted that;
Participants will be introduced to the editorial process.
Participants are invited to submit text and receive editing and feedback.
Practical matters regarding publication will be covered.
Participants learn to use guided meditation for brainstorming.
We will practise how to use images and memories as prompts.
The course will run for four sessions, two hours each, from 16:00 to 18:00 on the following dates: Tuesday 3 October, Thursday 5 October, Tuesday 10 October, and Thursday 12 October.
