The build-up – the Hafnarfjörður Library's Christmas book programme begins! We celebrate a new book every Tuesday in November, and finish in style at Kynstrunum öllum on 2nd December.

The Hafnarfjörður poets Anton Helgi Jónsson, Draumey Aradóttir and Eyrún Ósk Jónsdóttir will read poetry from their works on Tuesday, 21 November at 17:00 at Hafnarfjörður Library. There will also be an open mic session for any guests who would like to read poetry. A pleasant and cosy evening; all are welcome.

Anton Helgi Jónsson has published a great many books, poems, stories and plays, as well as translations of the works of other authors. He has received many accolades for his work, including the Jón úr Vör Poetry Prize in 2014. Anton maintains the website anton.is, where he shares his poems.

Draumey Aradóttir has written both poetry collections and children's books, as well as working as a teacher. She has received awards and recognition for her poetry, including in the poetry competition of the Júlíana Festival of History and Books.

Eyrún Ósk Jónsdóttir is a writer, actor and director. She won the Tómas Guðmundsson Literary Award in 2016. In addition to publishing novels, poetry collections and illustrated children's books, Eyrún has written plays, film scripts, articles and lectures.
