Queen, Gosi and a new snow-making system
Over the weekend, the inauguration and formal opening of new ski facilities at Bláfjöll took place. On the occasion, representatives of the municipalities and the developer gave short speeches, and guests took a ride on the new chairlift to look around the area in the beautiful weather.
This refers to the new Queen and Gosa chairlifts and a new snowmaking system that has been installed in the area. Furthermore, the facilities for cross-country skiers have been greatly improved with new toilet facilities, snow fencing and lighting. It is hoped that these improvements will greatly enhance the user experience of the area, as well as allow for an increase in the number of opening days thanks to the snow-making system.
Agreement on extensive development of the ski areas
These works are in accordance with an agreement on the extensive development of the ski areas, and work on this has been ongoing at the level of the Association of Municipalities in the Capital Region (SSH) since 2018, when an agreement was signed by the owners of the ski areas: The project as a whole has gone well and is on schedule.
