Hrafnhildur Helgadóttir is holding a course in first aid and resuscitation for newborns and toddlers for new parents. She has many years of experience in first aid instruction for adults and children, general teaching, and parent education, as well as nursing, and has been working for the Red Cross and the National Health Service.
Accident prevention and first aid for infants/children are covered. Topics include:
Prevention
Resuscitation of infants/children
Release of foreign objects
First aid for heat cramps
Response to a fire
Practical exercises where participants get to have a go are part of the course. The material is based on the guidelines of the European Resuscitation Council.
