Flash Fiction Workshop on Halloween: Thrilling Crime Stories!

Is your head full of ideas? Are you interested in both crime fiction and horror? Would you like to try blending different ideas together? The Hafnarfjörður Library is offering a short story workshop led by Emil Hjörvar Petersen on 22 October from 16:30 to 18:30.

The writer Emil Hjörvar Petersen leads the workshop; he is known for blending literary genres. He has written eleven novels, including the award-winning *Warghouls*, a crime fantasy, and the hugely popular *Death Hunt*, a crime thriller. Before the discussion and writing begin, Emil gives a brief overview of plot structure, what to bear in mind when writing, and encourages participants to let their imaginations run wild. No idea is too horrifying; you can work with anything, you just have to find a way.

Crime horror is part of the '25 Years of Crime in Iceland' event series, held to mark the 25th anniversary of the Icelandic Crime Society, and is supported by the Library Fund.

30 places are available and registration is via email to bokasafn@hafnarfjordur.is.

Pens and paper will be provided, but participants are welcome to bring their own notebooks and/or laptops.
