Public consultation meeting regarding amendments to the detailed plan for Kapelluhraun Phase 2 (the storage area) and Kapelluhraun Phase 1.
A proposal for a revised local plan for the storage area will be presented at a public consultation meeting on Tuesday, 13 May, between 16:00 and 17:30 at Norðurhellu 2 in Hafnarfjörður.
This is a significant amendment to the local plan to permit the expansion of the Kapelluhraun industrial area, Phase 2. The expansion covers an area previously designated for the proposed alignment of the Reykjanesbraut between Phases 1 and 2 in Kapelluhraun.
The proposal provides for 62 business plots and a new road network in the southern part of the development area. The plots range in size from 2,000 m² to 47,000 m². Changes will be made, among other things, to the classification of commercial activities, building plots, the utilisation ratio and parking conditions. It is necessary to amend the planning boundary for Kapelluhraun Phase 1 due to the expansion of Kapelluhraun Phase 2. The matters are being advertised simultaneously.
The formal consultation period is from 17 April to 30 May 2025, and the documents can be accessed on the planning portal website (skipulagsgatt.is). Comments or suggestions should be submitted electronically via the planning portal.
