Ásvallalaug is the largest and most popular swimming pool in the country. The pool is indoor. The pool is 50 metres wide and is usually divided by a bridge, so that one half of the pool is 25 metres long and the other half is 50 metres.

The South Pool has a 12.5 x 25-metre outdoor swimming pool which is connected to a specially designed indoor teaching pool that is also a good children's pool. Outside, there are three hot tubs, a steam room, a mushroom fountain in the wading pool, two water slides and two cold plunge pools at different temperatures.
