A refreshing weekend in Hafnarfjörður
The first Hafnarfjörður Leisure Day will be held in the sports hall on Strandgata tomorrow, Saturday 29th August, from 10 am to 2 pm. The town's sports and leisure clubs will be coming together to showcase their diverse activities for children and parents.
Yes, this is a fantastic collaboration between the clubs, giving children the opportunity to try out different sports and pastimes. They get to try a variety of exciting activities to find the one that's right for them.
The bridge builders will be on site to help people from different linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
Brand new exhibitions at Hafnarborg
An artists' and curator's talk will be held at Hafnarborg tomorrow, Saturday 29 August, from 2–3 pm about the autumn exhibition Spassion.
The artists Gabi Schillig and Hildur Elísa Jónsdóttir and the curators Katrín Björg Gunnarsdóttir and Úlfur Bragi Einarsson guide visitors through the exhibition and discuss the ideas behind it.
The exhibition focuses on the periphery of the gallery space and the nooks, crannies and surfaces that often receive less attention. The talk will be in Icelandic and English. And best of all, admission is free.

Vegan festival for the third time at Thorsplan
The Vegan Festival will be held at Thorsplan with pomp and splendour on Sunday 30 August from 12pm to 4pm. The festival has become well established and will now be held at Thorsplan for the third time.
A wide variety of food and other vegan products will be on offer. These include ice cream, Colombian food, Transylvanian cakes, Hungarian flatbreads, Vietnamese dishes, pastries and coffee drinks. Younger visitors can enjoy a bouncy castle, a sensory experience and face painting.
Ragga Gröndal will be performing, followed by Gunnar Hilmarsson and Jóhann Guðmundsson, who will create a cosy atmosphere with their jazz tunes. Guests are encouraged to arrive in good time to secure the best treats.
Fun on the Ægi 220
That's not all. There will be a GÓSS end-of-summer party at Ægi 220 tonight for those of you who enjoy music and socialising. The trio GÓSS will close the summer with a concert at Ægi 220 this evening at 8 p.m. The trio consists of Sigríður Thorlacius and the brothers Sigurður and Guðmundur Óskar Guðmundssynir.
Original and cover songs are on the programme, including Icelandic national songs and foreign pop songs, all performed in three-part harmony in traditional dress. Ticket prices start from 6,000 krónur.
