The City of Hafnarfjörður and the trade union Hlíf have signed an agreement for Hlíf's members in Hafnarfjörður's nurseries. The strike, which was due to begin next Thursday, has been cancelled. Parents and guardians of nursery school children in Hafnarfjörður can therefore breathe a sigh of relief.

Planned strike cancelled

The vote on the agreement begins mid-week.

HLÍF will present the agreement to its members in the coming days, and a ballot on the agreement will begin mid-week. The union considers the agreement to be very satisfactory and believes that almost all of its negotiating objectives have been met. The most important provision concerns the guarantee of preparation time for nursery and after-school staff and support assistants in nurseries.
