Lunchtime Concert – Elín Ósk Óskarsdóttir
On Tuesday 5th May at 12 noon, we welcome you to the final lunchtime concert of this spring term at Hafnarborg, featuring the singer Elín Ósk…
Sunday 31 August, 1 pm–3 pm We invite guests to take part in the electroacoustic workshop, Électro-Bricolage Ensemble, led by the Canadian artist Dörshu Hewitt, who is one of the participants in the Hafnarborg autumn exhibition. Complete divas.
The aim of the workshop is to open a gateway into the world of electronics, where participants will be introduced to the basics of the technology through simple experiments and construction. We will then look at circuit diagrams, learn to identify the different components, and build a simple device that creates sound – which, for example, makes electronic music possible. Together, we will then experiment further with sound and work with synthesised electronic instruments to create unexpected rhythmic and sound patterns.
The workshop is especially for beginners and no previous experience in electronics is necessary. It is open to anyone who is interested in learning how things work or enjoys making things with their hands. All materials will be provided, and each participant will receive their own electronics kit to use during the workshop. The workshop will be equally accessible in English and Icelandic, and is part of the museum's event series. In my opinion.
The workshop is open to everyone aged 15 and over, but please note that places are limited, so we recommend arriving in good time. As usual, participation in the art workshops is free for visitors, as is admission to the museum's exhibitions. All are welcome.
