Hafnarfjörður Library is opening an art exhibition of works by Kristberg Ó. Pétursson in the Glass Room.

Kristbergur was born in Hafnarfjörður in 1962. He studied at the Iceland Academy of the Arts from 1979 to 1985 and at the Royal Academy in Amsterdam from 1985 to 1988.
During his studies, he worked mainly on graphic works and drawings, but after graduating he turned more to painting.
In recent years, he has also worked in watercolour, graphics, photography and digital image processing.
Kristbergur has held numerous exhibitions of his work at home and abroad, and his works are in the collections of some of the country's leading art galleries. He has received an artist's grant five times and has also been awarded encouragement grants and project grants from the Cultural Affairs Committee of Hafnarfjörður.
He has published books of his work and one illustrated poetry book. He lives in Hafnarfjörður.

The works in the exhibition combine a variety of different media, such as canvas, inkjet printing and painting. The subject matter is from Kristberg's childhood and teenage years. It could be said that this is a reawakening and reworking of the encounters between different fragments of memory.
