Kristín Eiríksdóttir has worked in visual art and written plays and poetry, but she is best known for her prose works, the short story collection *Doris Dies* from 2010, *Hvítfeld, a Family Story* from 2012, and *Elín, Miscellaneous*, which was published in 2017. For this, Kristín received the Icelandic Book Award and the Fjörubréf Award, and the book was also nominated for the Nordic Council's Literary Prize. She recently published the book Tól, which is her latest book, and will be discussing it during her visit to the library.

Tól tells the story of filmmaker Villa Dúadóttir, who is fielding questions at a documentary festival in Stockholm, but the questions baffle her. Exactly how was she connected to the whaler Dimmi, the subject of her film? Why did she want to tell his story? Is it even appropriate for her to do so? And what about Amalia, whom she cut out of the film?

As in Kristín Eiríksdóttir's previous works, everything seems straightforward, but nothing is as it appears. The narrative keeps the reader captivated, at once sensitive and merciless.

Kristín will be at the library on 25th April.
