What to do during the winter holidays? Come and make a treasure map with us at the Library – perfect for young explorers and cartographers!
Who doesn't enjoy creating their own treasure map that points the way to gold and jewels, or looking at a globe to see where Iceland is on the planet? In this art workshop, we will become mapmakers and create our very own map. We will look at different types of maps for mapping the world, among other things. Using simple maps like a treasure map or a map of Hafnarfjörður, we will turn streets and main roads into snakes, worms and strange creatures. We can also draw our own map of an imaginary city, designing it from scratch using only our imagination.
The workshop runs from 13:00 to 16:00, all materials are provided, and it is open to everyone.
