Fireworks display and fun at Fjörð tonight
The Fjörður shopping centre is celebrating its 30th anniversary today, Friday 22nd November, and the town of Hafnarfjörður is celebrating with it. Please note that a fireworks display will begin at 19:20 and will last for 5 minutes. Dog owners are encouraged to give their dogs extra cuddles during this short time, and perhaps even keep them at home while the firework display is taking place.

The Fjörður shopping centre is celebrating its 30th anniversary today, Friday 22nd November, and the City of Hafnarfjörður is celebrating with it. The shopping centre opened in November 1994. A town festival has been called for from 6 p.m. in the Christmas town, and there will be great life and fun at Fjörður, in addition to the Christmas cheer at Thorsplani and elsewhere around town. Particular attention is drawn to the fact that a fireworks display will begin at 19:20 and will last for 5 minutes. The Christmas Village in Hafnarfjörður opened last weekend when the lights were switched on at the Cuxhaven Christmas Tree. A large crowd visited the village and enjoyed walking through the streets, from Flensborg Harbour up to Hellisgerði. The festive atmosphere will be no less in the heart of Hafnarfjörður this weekend. Experiences and tastings in the experience houses at Thorsplan, exciting gift items, gourmet treats, handicrafts and quality design. Christmas Heart, the Heart Sliding Hill and a fairy-tale world in Hellisgerði, where the café is open until 8 p.m. Musical performances, product demonstrations, a fireworks display, a Christmas pop-up market and Bylgjan live from Firði. Major development in the heart of Hafnarfjörður
The first sod was cut in November 2022 for the most extensive development in the heart of Hafnarfjörður in decades, at the Fjöður shopping centre. Once completed, the new building, which will be approximately 9,000 m², will house shops and services on the ground floor connecting Strandgata to the shopping centre, a modern library, a public park on the second floor accessible from Strandgata, and elegant apartments and hotel apartments. Particular attention has been paid to ensuring a good mix of retail, service and residential spaces. The development is progressing well, and it is clear that activity at Firði will be even more vibrant in the year ahead.
