Construction of a sewer in the mouth of Hafnarfjörður
As was announced a few days ago, it has become necessary, due to maintenance work and the formation of the sewer pipe running beneath the Fjörður shopping centre, to divert the sewage into the harbour for the time being. Unfortunately, this work needs to be repeated. Sea swimmers are kindly asked to refrain from swimming in these areas until after 27 November.
We will continue with swimming in these areas until after 27 November.
As was announced a few days ago, it has become necessary, due to maintenance work and the lining of the sewer pipe that runs beneath the Fjörður shopping centre, to divert the sewage into the harbour for the time being. Unfortunately, this work needs to be repeated. The lining will be installed today, and as a result, untreated sewage will flow into the harbour. Sea swimmers are kindly asked to postpone their swims in these areas until after 27 November. Please observe these instructions throughout the entire harbour of Hafnarfjörður, particularly in the area by Krosseyri, Herjólfsgata and the Hafnarfjörður Swimming Pool.
