Let's give the cars a break from the town centre – The Heart of Hafnarfjörður is getting under way

Announcements

The Hjarta Hafnarfjarðar music festival is starting in the coming days. The car parks behind the Town Hall and by the Bæjarbíó will be mostly reserved for the festival. Car parks can be found within a short walking distance.

Let's go further to boost trade

Yes, now the fun begins. The music festival in the heart of Hafnarfjörður begins on 26th June with the tunes of our very own Björgvin Halldórsson. Thousands of visitors flock to the town throughout the weekends that this town music festival runs, right up until 6th August.

During the festival, the car parks behind the Town Hall and the Town Cinema will be reserved for the event. Out of respect for the shops, restaurants and other service providers in the town centre, we strongly encourage all staff who work here to park their cars further away, walk to work and contribute to fostering a thriving business community in a thriving town.

Does this incentive also apply to the car parks at Strandgata and Linnetstíg, all of which are short-stay car parks (30-60 minutes)?.

Yes, now it's time to take the step towards better health, a more attractive shop, excellent service and enjoyable evenings here in Hafnarfjörður.
