The City of Hafnarfjörður is looking to hire energetic and enthusiastic staff for summer relief positions at a home for people with disabilities, located in Arnarhraun, Hafnarfjörður. 

A varied and exciting position is available in shift work. The position is 80-100% or by arrangement, and the successful candidate must be able to work morning, evening, night and weekend shifts. Work is carried out in accordance with the philosophy Servant leadership. 

Key responsibilities and duties:

  • Providing residents with support with activities of daily living, housekeeping and daily tasks as appropriate and as required.
  • To be vigilant regarding the residents' mental and physical well-being.
  • Adhere to service plans and procedures
  • Support residents to participate in the community
  • Other tasks as per the job description 

Competency requirements:

  • Experience in similar roles is an advantage.
  • Interest in the affairs of disabled people
  • Knowledge of the Servant Leadership philosophy is an advantage.
  • Service-mindedness and positivity at work
  • Skills in human communication are essential.
  • Initiative and conscientiousness
  • Independent working methods and flexibility in work

  • Physical ability to carry out tasks in the workplace

The condition is that the person has reached the age of 20 and has a clean criminal record.

Salary in accordance with the current collective agreement between the Federation of Icelandic Municipalities and the Hafnarfjörður Staff Association.
