Öldutúnsskóli is looking for a form tutor for the middle years.

The Council is in office from 1 August 2026.

Öldutúnsskóli has around 590 pupils in Years 1 to 10.

At Öldutúnsskóli, emphasis is placed on a creative and rewarding learning environment where all parties strive to make learning both interesting and enjoyable. We emphasise a good working atmosphere and a variety of teaching methods. Strong emphasis is placed on teamwork and team teaching.

The school also places a strong emphasis on environmental issues.

Key responsibilities and duties:

• Responsible for general teaching and supervision at secondary school level.
• Participate in the development and shaping of school activities.
• Promote the welfare of pupils in partnership with parents and other school professionals.
• Working on the development of school operations in consultation with management and colleagues.
• Works in accordance with the school's policy
• Working to create a good atmosphere in the school and ensuring the safety and well-being of pupils and staff.

Educational and competency requirements:

• Teaching licence (a licence must accompany the application)
• Experience of teaching in a primary school is desirable.
• A solid knowledge of subject pedagogy at secondary school level is desirable.
• Interest and/or experience in pastoral care
• Agility in communication, flexibility and cooperativeness
• Initiative and autonomy in work methods
• Positivity and an interest in working in a creative and ambitious environment
• Punctuality and conscientiousness
• Good command of Icelandic. The proficiency level is based on the C1 criteria of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

A clean criminal record is a condition.
