Ásland 4 is the newest development area in Hafnarfjörður and construction has already begun. New plots have now been added to the first phase of the development, and the Municipality of Hafnarfjörður has opened applications for 22 plots for detached houses and 5 plots for terraced houses, for a total of 25 dwellings. The overhead lines between Hamranes Power Station and Kaldárselsvegur have been converted to an underground cable, and the masts and overhead lines have been removed, with the exception of the mast nearest Hamranes.

Second allocation of plots in the first phase of development in Ásland 4

Ásland 4 is the newest development area in Hafnarfjörður and construction has already begun.   • 9 two-storey detached houses. The maximum building size is 320 sq. m.
  • 13 single-storey detached houses. The maximum building size is 214.5 m².
  • 5 terraced houses on one storey, totalling 25 flats. Maximum building volume 156 sq m per flat.

22 plots for detached houses and 5 plots for terraced houses

In this second phase of the first development stage in Ásandi 4, 22 plots for detached houses and 5 plots for terraced houses with 4-6 dwellings per plot are available for allocation. A total of 25 dwellings. 9 of the detached houses are two-storey and 13 are single-storey. The plot prices reflect the maximum building density permitted. Prices for the detached house plots start from approximately 2.1 to 3.3 million króna. The price for terraced house plots is from around 50–75 million króna.

Applications must be submitted online and it is important that all relevant supporting documents are provided at the same time to ensure the application is valid. The application deadline for terraced house plots is 9 December. The detached house plots will be allocated through the general allocation process and will be considered at the next council meeting. A natural gem on the southern slopes of Ásfjall

Part of Ásland 4 is already under development. It is a residential area, a continuation of the neighbourhoods on either side, namely Ásland 3, Skarðshlíð and Hamranesi. The area is defined by Ásfjall with Mógrafarhæð, which juts into the area from the north, the residential development of Ásland 3 to the north-east, Ásvallabraut to the east and south, and the residential developments in Skarðshlíð and Hamranes to the west. A strong emphasis was placed on a holistic vision, sustainable planning, a green appearance and varied outdoor spaces in the planning and design of the neighbourhood. The development will consist of low-rise detached houses; bungalows, semi-detached and terraced houses.

Hamranes Line 1 and 2 now in an underground cable

In recent weeks, Landsnet has been working to lay two 4 km underground cables between the Hamranes power station and the Kaldársel road, replacing the overhead lines. The underground cable on Hamranes Line 2 was connected on 14 October, and the one on Hamranes Line 1 on 28 October. The pylons and overhead lines will be removed by the end of the year, with the exception of the pylon closest to Hamranes, which will need to remain for a while longer.
