Multicultural Council

The Multicultural Council provides the City Council, committees and boards of Hafnarfjörður with advice on the affairs and interests of the town's residents who are immigrants.

The Multicultural Council is to promote the exchange of information and cooperation between the City of Hafnarfjörður and the group's interest organisations. The Council connects the multicultural communities in Hafnarfjörður, links Icelanders and immigrants, promotes the concerns of immigrants and contributes to a peaceful, multicultural society.

The Multicultural Council has 5 representatives. The council is a consultative body for residents who are immigrants, immigrant interest groups, the business community, and the local authorities. It takes an active part in all policy-making concerning multiculturalism.
