It is planned to lay a new hot water pipe on Ásbraut, as well as a pipe to the Hamranes district along Ásvallabraut over a 1,300-metre section. New heating pipe at Ásbraut

In the coming weeks, Veitur will begin work in the vicinity of residents in Völlum, Skarðshlíð and Hamranes. It is planned to lay a new hot water pipeline on Ásbraut, as well as a pipeline to the Hamranes district along Ásvallabraut over a 1,300-metre section. This work is in response to development in the area and is intended to improve the pressure of the hot water supply. The pipeline along Ásvallabraut will create a ring main, which will increase operational reliability and the delivery of hot water.

Diversions and emphasis on the safety of road users and staff

Motorists should expect road narrowings near the construction sites, but access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times. Diversions will be in place, with a focus on the safety of road users and staff. The utility companies anticipate that the work will continue until December this year. The surface will be finished once the work is complete. If it becomes necessary to temporarily shut off the hot water at any point, this will be announced in advance. Veitur is renewing the pipes to ensure all residents have the necessary infrastructure and a good quality of life for the future.

Information about the work, along with a picture of the planned work area, can be found on the Veitur website..
