Good deeds by students that promote and strengthen the community

The Environmental and Charity Week of the Skarðshlíðarskóli secondary school concluded on 8th April with a charity market, where students sold new and upcycled clothing, jewellery from recycled materials, purses made from plastic packaging, books and rice pouches. The students presented the Bereavement Centre with 40 rice pouches to support this important organisation, which is based at the St. Jó Life Quality Centre in Hafnarfjörður.

Redesign, reuse and grit pads

St. Jó's Centre for Wellbeing in Hafnarfjörður.

A grant supporting and strengthening work for refugee children from Ukraine

The students decided that the proceeds of the charity market, kr. 132,730, would go to refugee children from Ukraine who have
have come to Iceland in recent weeks and months. On 19 May, pupils of Skarðshlíðarskóli presented Markus Má Efraím, who is in charge of the children's club from
Ukraine in Reykjavik, 4 Instax cameras and 700 films. The cameras
will be put to use in a summer job with the children who attend the youth club. The group is
