Artists, designers and craftspeople in the centre of Hafnarfjörður are opening their studios to visitors this evening from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., and museums and shops will also be open late. There will be open houses at the Hafnarfjörður Icehouse and the St. Jó Wellbeing Centre. Come out for a walk!

Artists, designers and craftspeople in the centre of Hafnarfjörður are opening their studios to visitors on Friday evening, and museums and shops will be open late into the evening. The vigour and vitality of the arts scene in Hafnarfjörður is reflected in the 'Walk into Town' event, which this time takes place on Friday, 2nd June from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Artists' studios will be open, stretching from Fornubúðir, museums and shops on Strandgata, all the way to the Hafnarfjörður Folk Museum on Vesturgata.
Open house at the Hafnarfjörður Icehouse and St. Jó's Wellbeing Centre
Among other things, there will be an open house at the Hafnarfjörður Icehouse, where 30 sole traders and smaller companies in creative industries have set up in workshops and studios. The range is extremely diverse and the building is home to activities including ceramics, graphic design, product design, writing, model shipbuilding and goldsmithing. There will also be an open house at the St. Jó Wellbeing Centre at 41 Suðurgata. At St. Jó, a team of professionals and organisations works to improve people's quality of life and offers a very diverse range of services. These include various counselling and talk therapy, education, massage, healing, hypnotherapy, various pregnancy health services, and physiotherapy. In addition, the Alzheimer's Association, Parkinson's and the Bereavement Association support us with their diverse and important work.
A behind-the-scenes look at Hafnarborg
At Hafnarborg, visitors will be invited to look behind the scenes at the museum as new exhibitions are installed, which will open on Saturday, 10 June at 14:00: *On the Sea of Stillness* by Hildur Ásgeirsdóttir Jónsson and *Hesitant Lines* by Elísabet Brynhildardóttir. At Hafnarfjörður Library, there will be workshops, an art appreciation session, a music corner and more fun for visitors and passers-by, and at the Hafnarfjörður Museum of Local History, you can view a brand-new themed exhibition about the police in Hafnarfjörður. Additionally, many shops on Strandgata will be open late, offering crafts and designs by local artists.
