On the 12th of August, the performance group Þríradda performed the play SinfóNýja at the Pharmacy in Hafnarborg to a good reception. The exhibition was the result of a creative summer project in Hafnarfjörður. The group consists of Benedikt Gylfason, Hanna Hulda Hafþórsdóttir and Íris Ásmundar. The group combined music, filmmaking and dance, and the performance is based on the inner world of characters belonging to a classical symphony orchestra.

The distinction between reality and a fantasy world will become blurred.

„SinfóNýja is in four movements, like a symphonic work. Each art form is given prominence in the first three movements, but they unite into one in the final section. The work touches on ideas and emotions such as ego, insecurity, perfectionism, grandiosity, the feeling of being out of place, as well as codependency in different situations that require one not to be completely oneself. The boundaries between reality and a parallel world become blurred, and it explores how the concept of the self oscillates between these two worlds.“

The group was warmly applauded at the end of the show.

The performers of the work were Íris Ásmundar & Benedikt Gylfason, together with the dancers Sara Lind Guðnadóttir and Rebekka Guðmundsdóttir. The lighting, staging and set design were by Hanna Hulda Hafþórsdóttir, Hafey Þormarsdóttir and Albert Eriksen. Rut Sigurðardóttir, Ágústa Bergrós Jakobsdóttir and Svanhildur Júlía played in the piece's overture as the audience entered the hall.

The show was well attended, with some people having to stand to get a seat. The audience was very impressed and the group received a warm welcome at the end of the performance. Afterwards, the audience enjoyed refreshments from Töst and Omnom and celebrated with the Tríradda group.

Thanks to everyone who helped to make the exhibition a reality.
