Recognition for 25 years of professional contribution
For seven years, the Municipality of Hafnarfjörður has been recognising and expressing its gratitude to staff who have worked for the municipality for 25 years, for their successful career, professional contribution and service to the municipality. This year, 19 employees are being recognised for this number of years of service, which equates to 475 years of combined experience in a variety of roles across the borough's workplaces. Hafnarfjörður is the third-largest municipality in the country with just over 30,000 residents and around 2,500 employees at 70 locations across the town. The awards were presented at a celebratory ceremony in Hafnarborg.

19 employees of the City of Hafnarfjörður were yesterday presented with a certificate of recognition and appreciation for 25 years of successful service, professional contribution and work for the benefit of the municipality.
A diverse group of staff are recognised each year.
The group this year includes, among others, a special education manager, office managers, and an occupational therapist.,
Department heads, teachers, project manager, technician, teaching assistant and special needs teacher.
Mayor Rósa Guðbjartsdóttir thanked the group for their well-done work, ambition,
professionalism and loyalty to the City of Hafnarfjörður on behalf of residents, colleagues and
of the Hafnarfjörður town council and presented each of them with a certificate of appreciation and 61,000.-
kr. gift voucher.
