Hafnarfjörður Municipality and Securitas have entered into a rolling four-year contract for the remote monitoring of security systems and the municipality's fire alarm service contracts, with the option to extend.

Ongoing partnership between Securitas and the City of Hafnarfjörður

Hafnarfjörður municipality and Securitas have entered into a rolling contract for the remote monitoring of security systems and service contracts for the town's fire alarm systems for four years, with the possibility of an extension. Two companies submitted bids for the project, both of which fully met the requirements of the tender documents. It was decided to continue the partnership with Securitas, who submitted the more favourable bid.

Securitas is responsible for all the town's security.

The contract with Securitas involves the company handling all of the town's security matters, including monitoring security systems and providing services and inspections for systems in town-owned buildings. This includes museums, swimming pools, nurseries and primary schools, town halls and other institutions. At the same time, emphasis will be placed on the positioning and visibility of patrol cars within the municipality.

Ómar Svavarsson, CEO of Securitas, and Rósa Guðbjartsdóttir, Mayor of Hafnarfjörður, recently signed a continuing partnership agreement on the municipality's security.

Rósa Guðbjartsdóttir, Mayor of Hafnarfjörður, welcomes the continued agreement. „We continue to be in the safe hands of Securitas. For many years, we have regularly tendered the municipality's outsourced services, not only for efficiency reasons but also to ensure re-evaluation and updating in line with technological development and changing times. At the end of the day, the contract is about the safety of the staff and residents of Hafnarfjörður, and the terms of the tender, following such large-scale tenders, ensure that all aspects are considered. Hafnarfjörður is in safe hands.“

Securitas celebrates its continued partnership with the City of Hafnarfjörður, and with a number of patrol cars in the municipality, response times for both businesses and individuals are shortened. „We have twelve surveillance and response vehicles manned at any given time, spread out across the greater capital region, but there are a total of eighteen vehicles nationwide. We are on duty 24/7, every day of the year, and have a response capability that is unparalleled by other companies in the country.“ says Fannar Örn Þorbjörnsson, Managing Director of the Sales and Service Division at Securitas.
