Around 100 people attended a tourism conference in Hafnarfjörður at the weekend.

The City of Hafnarfjörður and the Marketing Office of Hafnarfjörður hosted a successful conference on the state of and opportunities in the tourism industry over the weekend. The conference took place at Hafnarborg and was entitled „The Strategy and Position of Hafnarfjörður in Tourism“. Significant reduction in property tax for senior citizens in Hafnarfjörður

 The property tax discount for pensioners and the disabled will increase significantly in the coming year, according to a proposal approved by the Hafnarfjörður town council at its meeting yesterday. The income thresholds will be raised and more people will be eligible for the discount. The increase in thresholds is expected to be around 30% above the 11.4% rise in the wage index for 2016.
