Tuesday, 5th May at 12 We welcome you to the final lunchtime concert of this spring term at Hafnarborg, where the singer will be Elín Ósk Óskarsdóttir guest Antonia Hevesi, pianist and artistic director of the concert series.

Elín Ósk Óskarsdóttir She began her musical studies at the Rangæingar Music School on the piano at the age of 11 and sang in the Rangæingar Choral Society. From 1979 to 1984, she studied at the Reykjavík School of Singing, where she obtained the LRSM (Lyric Recital Diploma). Her principal teacher was the beloved singer Þuríður Pálsdóttir, and her accompanist was the composer Jórunn Viðar. Elín Ósk undertook further studies in Italy from 1984 to 1986 with Pier Miranda Ferraro, a tenor and professor at the Verdi Academy in Milan. After two years of study in Italy, Elín was called home to Iceland to sing the title role in the opera Tosca in the National Theatre's 1986 production she was only 25 years old, and it was also her first stage role.

Antonia Hevesi, a pianist, has been the artistic director of the lunchtime concerts at Hafnarborg since their inception, and they have been a regular feature of the museum's programme since 2003. There, Antonía has been joined by many of the country's leading singers, with the aim of the concerts being to give visitors the opportunity to enjoy live music at their leisure. The lunchtime concerts are usually held on the first Tuesday of each month during the winter season.

The concert starts at 12 noon and will last for about half an hour. The venue opens at 11:30 am and the concert is open to all, subject to capacity. Admission is free.
