In mid-February, the ever-popular Hafnarfjörður Primary School Festival took place. The festival has become a tradition that primary school pupils eagerly await, and it is organised by all the youth clubs in Hafnarfjörður, thus providing a dance for all pupils in the middle school years at Hafnarfjörður's primary schools. In recent years, the festival has been held at the Strandgata Sports Hall.

The youths chose Pal Oskar to close the festival.

Preparations for the Hafnarfjörður Secondary School Festival take time, and a select group of section and assistant section managers from the youth centres in Hafnarfjörður, along with youth representatives, have been hard at work on the fun preparations for the festival. The young people are responsible for, among other things, selecting the musicians, publicising the event, as well as planning and organising it. In this work, the group as a whole also receives support from the other section and assistant section leaders of the youth centres, as well as their staff.

This year's festival theme – a festival of fun and stars

This year, the festival's theme was Tropical and the primary schools competed in a decorating competition. This time, it was Áslandsskóli that emerged as the winner. The ball went very well and many up-and-coming stars took to the stage! The evening's presenters were Emilía Ósk Grétarsdóttir and Ísak Gunnarsson from Áslandsskóli, Greipur Ásmundarson from Lækjarskóli, Hildur Hólmfríður Þrastardóttir from NÚ and Brynja Eik Steinsdóttir from Skarðshlíðarskóli, and they did a fantastic job of presenting the evening's stars and getting the crowd going.
the atmosphere in the hall. It was Davíð Pétursson from Setbergsskóli, or DJ David, who started to warm things up. Next on stage was the group Dí Jay Guðríður, which includes Halldór Ingi Auðunsson from Hraunvallaskóli, Bjarki Már Ingvarsson from Hvaleyrarskóli, Sigurður Bjarmi Árnason and Dagur Máni Daðason from Öldutúnsskóli. Next, Herra Hnetusmjör took to the stage. Ragnar Kári Kristjánsson, or DJ Raggi, then kept the atmosphere going until the superstar of the evening finally took to the stage, none other than Páll Óskar Hjálmtýsson. Páll Óskar
kept up the party right up until the very last minute of the celebration, or until 10 p.m.

The future is bright with these brilliant young people at the helm!
