Hamravellir Health Nursery School is looking to hire an ambitious cook on a full-time basis.

At Heilsuleikskólinn Hamravellir, a team of professional and fun-loving staff are looking for reinforcements.

Hamravellir is located inland in Völlunum, Hafnarfjörður, where there is easy access to unspoilt nature. Hamravellir is a health nursery school where the emphasis is on a healthy diet, outdoor activities, exercise and creativity. The nursery school's motto is movement, creativity and well-being. The nursery school's values are play and care.

Key responsibilities and duties:

• Manage food preparation in the nursery school canteen.
• Manages the purchasing for the nursery's canteen.
• Meals according to the joint menus of Hafnarfjörður's nurseries
• Take care of the daily cleaning of the kitchen
• Manages the equipment and utensils in the kitchen.
• Other tasks as per the job description and as assigned by a superior.

Educational and competency requirements:

• A course and/or a short programme in the field of cookery is a requirement.
• Experience of work in a kitchen/cafeteria is a requirement.
• Significant and good experience in the culinary field is required.
• Good knowledge of nutrition and canteen management.
• Interest in a healthy diet and a willingness to develop menus in collaboration with others.
• Independence, a helpful attitude and good communication skills
• Good general computer knowledge
• Very good Icelandic skills, at a minimum C1 according to ETM Self-Assessment Framework (coe.int)

Remuneration is in accordance with the collective agreement between the Association of Icelandic Local Authorities and the Hlíf Trade Union.
