Hiking, sailing and sea swimming

This autumn, the group hiked to Stórhöfði, Búrfellsgjá, Úlfarsfell, Helgafell, Fagradalsfjall and up to Arnarvatn by Seltún. The rowing club Þytur welcomed a large group, introduced its activities and invited everyone to go kayaking in Hafnarfjörður harbour. The group went for a sea swim at Langeyrarmelar and then enjoyed the heat in the hot tubs at Hafnarfjörður Swimming Pool.

A two-night final trip organised by the group

The final trip was a grand finale, and all the participants helped to plan it together. The trip lasted for two nights, with accommodation at Hvol in Kirkjubæjarklaustur, a glacier walk on Falljökull on the Öræfajökull glacier, a visit to an ice cave, and a trip to Jökulsárlón. Participants received a great deal of information about the area and the effects of global warming on the country's glaciers. The day ended in the hot tubs at the Kirkjubæjarklaustur swimming pool. On the way home, Fjaðrárgljúfur, Vík, Reynisfjara, Skógafoss, Seljalandsfoss and Gljúfrabúi were visited.
