Voters are asked to allow plenty of time and to bear in mind that good parking facilities can also be found near the polling stations. It is also an ideal opportunity for those who are able to walk to their polling station.

Electoral register and polling stations in Hafnarfjörður

Polling stations in Hafnarfjörður for the parliamentary election on Saturday, 30 November 2024, will be open from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. The polling stations in Hafnarfjörður are Lækjarskóli, Sólvangsvegur 4, and Ásvellir Sports Centre. The electoral register for Hafnarfjörður has been available for inspection at the service desk in the Hafnarfjörður Town Hall from 8 November. The service desk at Strandgata 6 is open from 8 am to 4 pm on weekdays, and from 8 am to 2 pm on Fridays. Voters are asked to allow plenty of time and to bear in mind that good parking can also be found near polling stations. It is therefore ideal for those who are able to walk to their polling station.

At the National Register, voters can check where they are on the electoral roll for the parliamentary elections. When a National Registration Number is entered, a name, legal residence and municipality are displayed. Information about the polling station and electoral division also usually appears. The electoral register reference date is 12 noon on 29 October 2024. The register reference date determines where voters are registered to vote. If a voter changes their home address after that time, they will still be on the electoral register for their previous address. Voters must present photo identification at the polling station. Vote by post 

If voters are unable to vote on polling day, they can vote by post. Postal voting begins on Thursday, 7 November. It is possible to vote before election day, for example at the county governors' offices and abroad. Voters in Iceland can vote at the county governors' offices. The County Governor for the Capital Region is setting up a polling station in Holtagarðar.  

Hafnarfjörður Returning Officer 

The Returning Officers for Hafnarfjörður are Þórdís Bjarnadóttir, Hildur Helga Gísladóttir and Helena Mjöll Jóhannsdóttir. The Returning Officer's office is located at Lækjarskóli on polling day during the poll. The telephone numbers at the polling stations are: 555-0585 at Lækjarskóli and 525-8700 at Ásvellir. 

Electoral register 

The electoral register for the parliamentary elections in Hafnarfjörður will be available for inspection at the Hafnarfjörður Town Hall, Service Centre, Strandgata 6, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on all weekdays, except Fridays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., from 07.11.2024. On the electoral register in Hafnarfjörður are 22.011.
