Summer celebrated with a variety of festivities
Bjartir dagar is a participation festival and is based on institutions, voluntary organisations, businesses and individuals taking part in creating events throughout the town that are connected to the festival, or taking part in the programmes organised by others. Special emphasis is placed on the participation of children and young people, as the First of May is part of the celebrations. The First of May will be celebrated with a variety of festivities throughout Hafnarfjörður, such as birdwatching in Höfðaskógur, A cross-country run in the heart of Hafnarfjörður, a festival at St. Jó's Centre for Well-being, an international singing session and pearl stringing, a Scout Mass and a parade.
Go into town on Friday evening
The strength and vibrancy of the arts scene in Hafnarfjörður has been reflected, among other things, in the 'Walk into Town' event, where artists, artists, designers and craftspeople from the small boat harbour to the centre of Hafnarfjörður open their studios and welcome visitors and passers-by. Additionally, some shops in the town centre will be open late, making it the perfect opportunity to shop for unique designs in the heart of Hafnarfjörður. Various musical events feature prominently in this year's Bright Days programme, as in previous years. Musicians, sports clubs and various voluntary organisations are hosting a diverse range of events, and the town's cultural institutions are offering an entertaining programme.
