Happy day, ladies of the women's association!

Today, 1st February, is the Woman's Institute member's day.

Heilsubærinn Hafnarfjörður sendir kvenfélagskonum í Hafnarfirði og um land allt sérstakar hamingjuóskir í tilefni dagsins með hjartans þökk fyrir ómetanlegt framlag til uppbyggingar og eflingar á samfélaginu á hverjum stað um árabil. Þá ekki síst hvað varðar málefni barna, kvenna og fjölskyldna sem hafa verið kvenfélagskonum afar hugleikin.

The Day of the Women's Guild member, which is the founding day of the Women's Guild Association of Iceland, was formally designated as the Day of the Women's Guild member in 2010 to draw attention to the extensive and selfless work of the women's guild members. The day has become beautifully established in recent years and is celebrated widely, mainly among the women of the women's associations themselves, who celebrate their harvest and achievements. The City of Hafnarfjörður encourages the people of Hafnarfjörður and friends of the city to remember the day and honour the women of the women's associations with kind thoughts and words. The selfless work of the women, which is often carried out on a voluntary basis, is and has been extremely important to the community here in Hafnarfjörður.
