Participants in over 40 countries
Every year, millions of children in over 40 countries across the world take part in Walk to School in one way or another. In this country, participation has grown steadily, and while there were 26 participating schools in the first year, a total of 84 schools had signed up in 2022. On the project's website – www.gongumiskolann.is – you can find all the detailed information about the project, where you can, among other things, find some fun examples of how a number of schools in Iceland have implemented the project, as well as various other material from the participating schools.
The Healthy Town of Hafnarfjörður encourages all schools in Hafnarfjörður, parents and children to actively participate in the project next month! It's healthy and good to walk to school!
