Several changes to the Strætó bus route network in Hafnarfjörður have come into effect. Route 21 has been shortened within Hafnarfjörður, but journeys will now also pass Smáralind in both directions. The route now runs directly through Flatahraun and stops at Kaplakrika, while the stops at Bæjarhraun and Hólsraun are being discontinued. The route's service hours are extended by an hour in the evenings, and it will also run on Sundays.

Service on Route 1 is extended until 01:00 each evening, and Route 101 will operate a night service from Reykjavík city centre to Hafnarfjörður on Saturday and Sunday mornings, running hourly from 01:00 to 04:30. In summer 2018, there will be no special service reduction during the summer period, as has been the case in recent years.
