Starting primary school is a big step in every child's life, and at such a milestone the collaboration between home and school is extremely important. Later this autumn, parents of Year 1 pupils will receive a special booklet about the start of their primary school journey.
All information about the start of term can be found on the schools' websites, which also provide good information about the schools' work and priorities. It is well worth taking the time to look at this with your child.

The Municipality of Hafnarfjörður provides primary school pupils with educational materials free of charge. Schools have therefore purchased stationery that pupils need for their schoolwork. This means pupils will receive notebooks, pens, folders and other such items they need for their daily schoolwork, in addition to textbooks, which have always been provided free of charge.
