All members of the family should be able to find something to their liking, as the programme is varied, lively and fun.

Celebration programme for 17th June
8:00 Flags lowered and flag salute at the Rock
The Hraunbúar Scout Group is flying its flag all over town.
11:00 National costume gathering in Flensburg
Annríki – National Costumes and Jewellery provides assistance with wearing national costumes and encourages the people of Hafnarfjörður to wear national costumes from all countries. National costume photoshoot at Hafnarborg at 15:00.
Vintage cars from the Vintage Car Club of Iceland meet on the car park at Flensborg School at 11 a.m. The cars will then drive ahead of the parade down to the car park at Hafnarborg and will be on display there in the morning.
13:00 Parade from Flensburg School
March down Hringbraut, along Lækjargata and onto Strandgata to Thorsplani. The Hafnarfjörður Brass Band and the Hraunbúar Scout Group lead the parade.

- A national costume show with a special focus on women's national dress and its development.
- 14:00-15:00 Singer Guðrún Árný plays and sings Icelandic gems in the main hall of Hafnarborg.
- 15:30 Magician Ingó Geirdal performs magic tricks in the main hall of Hafnarborg.
- Line dancing by the senior citizens' association, dance sport club of Hafnarfjörður, girls from the gymnastics club Björk, a performance by the art group Vinnuskólans and the bands Little Menace and Ravison.

East Street Festival
The fantastic East Street Festival will be held for the ninth time this year. The residents of East Street welcome residents of Hafnarfjörður and the surrounding area, and as in previous years, there will be plenty of fun and exciting things on offer.

The seafront, streets and squares
On Strandgatan there will be stalls, fairground rides, shooting ranges, table tennis, archery, darts and music. There will also be creative summer activities and the art group from the Hafnarfjörður Summer School on the move.
The Old Stream School
The sailing club Þytur will have boats and kayaks at Læknar, and children will be given pony rides by the riding club Sörli.
Healthcare institutions
Heiða Ólafsdóttir and Helgi Hannesson visit hospitals and perform Icelandic gems.

The town centre will be closed to car traffic during the celebrations:

Residents are encouraged to park legally near the town centre and walk or take the bus to event venues.

A lively and informative museum for the whole family. Open from 10 am.

Bookless Bungalow, 32 Vesturgata.
The bungalow was built as a residence for the Scottish brothers.
Harry and Douglas Bookless in 1918, as they ran an extensive fishing business from
Hafnarfjörður in the first half of the 20th century. The house contains the history of the foreign fishing industry from

The Coastal Path
On the promenade along the harbour in Hafnarfjörður is the Hafnarfjörður Folk Museum with

„The Port of Hafnarfjörður in 110 Years“. The exhibition features 58 photographs and covers
all from Dröfn and west along Herjólfsgata.
