The archer Eva has come HOME to Hafnarfjörður
The arctic explorer Eva has returned home to Hafnarfjörður after a 50-day endurance walk around the country. Eva Bryndís is both the first woman and the youngest person ever to walk around the country.
Archer Eva returned home to Hafnarfjörður yesterday. Eva is a 16-year-old girl from Hafnarfjörður who has spent 43 days on the huge project of walking around the country to raise money for the Children's Hospital of the Ring. She set off from Hafnarfjörður Church on Sunday, 16th June, and yesterday became both the first woman and the youngest person ever to walk around the country.
Eva Bryndís's brother, Brynjar Óli, is chronically ill with a heart defect, and with this major project, Eva Bryndís wanted to thank the Children's Hospital of the Ring for always being there for her brother and the entire family. Eva Bryndís's mother accompanied her on the round-trip and made sure she rested and ate well. A number of interested people took part in the walk with her from all over the country, and a large group accompanied Eva Bryndís to the finish in Hafnarfjörður yesterday, where she arrived about two hours ahead of schedule. The circle is about 1,500 kilometres, and she planned to walk around 35 kilometres a day for 50 days. She completed the circle in 43 days.
