Hafnarborg is the cultural and arts centre of Hafnarfjörður. A vibrant cultural programme takes place at Hafnarborg all year round, with a varied exhibition schedule, guided tours, events and lectures, in addition to which concerts are a regular feature of its activities.
We are looking for an ambitious employee for the position of Reception and Service Officer.
This is a 60% job.
Working hours are normally 11:30-17:30 on weekdays, with the possibility of overtime.
Key tasks:
- Reception and general information for visitors about the museum's exhibitions and events, as well as telephone duty.
- Security in exhibition halls and supervision of the safety of artworks and visitors
- Processing, settlement and management of the compilation of statistical information
- Supervision of daily operations, exhibition technology, and the maintenance of a tidy environment in the museum shop and exhibition halls.
- Supervision of the gift shop and guest studio
- Assistance with the preparation, set-up and takedown for various events at the museum.
- Other tasks assigned to an employee by a superior and in accordance with their job description.
Educational and competency requirements:
- Leaving examination
- Experience in a similar role is desirable.
- A strong service-mindedness and good communication skills
- Autonomy in working methods
- Good command of Icelandic and English
- Interest in the museum's activities
- General computer knowledge
- Physical ability to perform the job
The salary is in accordance with the collective agreement between the Federation of Icelandic Municipalities and the Hafnarfjörður Staff Association.
