Hafnarfjörður is looking to hire dynamic, temporary staff for a rewarding summer position at a home for people with disabilities, located in Völlunum. The work is based on the philosophy of Servant Leadership.
An exciting and enjoyable role with a variety of shifts. The successful candidate must be able to work mornings, evenings, nights and weekends. We are looking for staff for 80-100% employment. The period of employment is from the beginning of July to the beginning of September, and the successful candidate must be available to work throughout this period.
Key responsibilities and duties:
- Providing residents with support with activities of daily living
- Have fun at work, be a role model for others and show initiative.
- Adhere to service plans and procedures
- Encourage residents to participate in the community and in leisure activities.
- General household chores
- Communication with various service providers
- Other tasks as per the job description and as assigned by a superior.
Competency requirements:
- Experience in similar roles is desirable.
- Interest in the affairs of disabled people
- Icelandic proficiency A2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages
- Service-mindedness and positivity at work
- Interpersonal skills
- Initiative and conscientiousness
- Good computer skills
- Physical ability to carry out demanding tasks in the workplace
- Driving licence a requirement
The condition is that the person has reached the age of 20 and has a clean criminal record.

Salary in accordance with the current collective agreement between the Federation of Icelandic Municipalities and the Staff Association of Hafnarfjörður.
