Hafnarfjörður is looking to hire a motivated employee to work in a home service for people with disabilities.
The philosophy of service-led guidance is followed, with an emphasis on residents feeling well in a comfortable and safe environment.
An exciting and varied opportunity for shift work is available. This is a 80–100% position. The successful candidate must be able to work days, evenings, nights and weekends.
Key responsibilities and duties:
- Providing service users with support with activities of daily living
- Adhere to service plans and procedures
- Encourage residents to participate in the community and in leisure activities.
- Have fun at work and be a role model for others
- General household chores
- Communication with various service providers
- Other duties as described in the job description
Educational and competency requirements:
- Experience in a similar role is desirable.
- Interest in the affairs of disabled people
- Knowledge of Icelandic is a requirement, A2 language level. ETM Self-Assessment Framework (coe.int)
- Service-mindedness and positivity at work
- Interpersonal skills
- Good computer skills
- Driving licence a condition
- Independent working methods and flexibility in work
- Physical ability to carry out tasks in the workplace
It is desirable to be 20 years of age, but a clean criminal record is a requirement.

The salary is in accordance with the current collective agreement between the Association of Icelandic Local Authorities and the Staff Association of Hafnarfjörður.
