Hraunvallaraskóli is looking to hire leisure activity leaders for 'Mosann', the school's leisure centre. The leisure centre has a youth club for children aged 10-16.
This is a position of approximately 25 hours per week, working from 16:55 to 22:05 on weekdays. The job is well-suited for students or for those looking for a side job, as the working hours are outside of normal business hours.
Key responsibilities and duties:
- Participates in organising and shaping a varied programme.
- Extensive communication and collaboration with children and teenagers
- Create a positive atmosphere based on respect and democratic working practices.
- Support for the initiative of children and adolescents ensures their safety and well-being.
- Works to provide information to children, parents and partners
- Other duties as described in the job description
Educational and competency requirements:
- On-the-job training, courses and/or some work experience is sufficient to acquire the required knowledge.
- Experience of working with children and young people
- Very good Icelandic skills, at a minimum of C1 according to the ETM Self-Assessment Framework (coe.int)
- Punctuality and organisational skills, initiative and the ability to work independently
- A wide range of interests that are utilised in the work of community centres.
- General computer skills
A condition of employment is that the applicant has a clean criminal record.

The remuneration is in accordance with the collective agreement between the Association of Icelandic Local Authorities and the Hafnarfjörður Staff Association.
