Jumping high at Holti and Hörðuvellir
Two new adventure playgrounds are planned for Hafnarfjörður in 2025, on selected open spaces in the town designated for public recreation: at Holt and Hamravellir. The project responds to residents' calls for more adventure playgrounds across the town, and within as many neighbourhoods as possible. The previously announced location on Holti has been abandoned in favour of a new site that we hope everyone will be happy with.
The number of adventure playgrounds in Hafnarfjörður will increase in 2025.

Jumping high at Hörðuvellir and Holt
At a meeting of the Environmental and Executive Council of Hafnarfjörður on 30 October, it was agreed to respond to a call from residents to increase the number of bouncy castles in the town, with decisions on their locations to be announced at the beginning of 2025. At the meeting of the Hafnarfjörður Environmental and Executive Council on 22 January, the proposed location for a bouncy castle on Holt was discussed. The council decided at its meeting to abandon the proposed location. A new location has been proposed and is now being consulted on. It is proposed that the new bouncy castle on Holt will be located north of Eyrarholt in the so-called „Ljónagryfja“. The Ljónagryfja is classified as an open space intended for general outdoor recreation. A new bouncy castle will also be added to the range of recreational facilities available at Hörðuvellir, which includes a fitness park, a playground, walking trails and an open green space. Both areas are designated for general outdoor recreation and therefore do not require any changes to the planning permission.
