A rustic Icelandic food cart in the style of turf houses
„We love being here in Hafnarfjörður and are really looking forward to meeting more people at the opening of the Christmas Village. Yes, the reception has been fantastic,“ says Michal Mazur, who runs Turf.

Michal and Kacper have carved out a niche for themselves; the wagon is reminiscent of a turf house and the food is authentically Icelandic; lamb burger, meat soup and one of the most delicious seafood soups in the country right now in the Christmas rush. Then their famous girls are back on the menu after the Christmas rush. Thought is put into the experience.
„My lamb burger is reminiscent of lava and moss, and it tastes great,“ says Michal. They made their dream a reality. Michal, an engineer, designed and built the house around the caravan. Kacper is a trained chef. Together, they have worked in many well-regarded restaurants, including the Marriott Hotel in the South West. The experience was what mattered.
„I always wanted to run my own business,“ says Michal, who convinced his friend to take the plunge. Michal, who is from Wroclaw in Poland, is no stranger to running a food van, as during his student days he also ran one in his home country. The dream is to increase the number of wagons, and perhaps even open a restaurant in the Fjords.
„We're really pleased with the reception,“ he says in conclusion.
