Cycle-friendly workplace
The City of Hafnarfjörður, at its Northern Hellu site, received its first certification as a cycle-friendly workplace during European Mobility Week. A total of 32 workplaces in the country have now been certified as cycle-friendly, and two have renewed their initial certification.

The cycling certification is valid for two years from the date of issue.
With workplace cycling certification, efforts are made to provide good accessibility for customers and employees. Provision is made for bicycle parking, training, transport policy and transport agreements, to name but a few. According to the checklist available on the website. www.hjolavottun.is Workplaces collect points for their conditions. 25–49 points is bronze, 50–74 is silver, and over 75 points is gold. A maximum of 100 points can be earned. The highest score any workplace has achieved is 93, which was attained by Advania this year. Cycling Skills in Iceland carries out the assessment of the workplaces and provides advice on improvements. The cycle certification was created Wheels.is , which is a community partnership project of Cycling Skills in Iceland, Landsbankinn, the Wine Shop, Vörður, Rio Tinto, Landsvirkjun, the City of Reykjavík and TRI.
