The Technical College and Flensborg School in Hafnarfjörður today received the 2020 Gulleplið awards for outstanding health promotion work in secondary schools. The Technical College received the Gulleplið itself, while Flensborg School received an honourable mention for its dedicated work on health promotion within the school over the past ten years. Music and motor combine young people
Mótorhúsið was founded in 1996 and is located at Dalshrauni 10, which is best known as the old liquorice factory. Mótorhúsið is a youth centre for 13-20 year-olds with facilities for the repair and maintenance of various vehicles. In the same building is also the music workshop Músikheimar, where a studio has been set up for rehearsals and recording for young people.
