26 August at 5 pm – Hundred Years in Sléttuhlíð
Sveinn Magnússon will lead an informative walk around Sléttuhlíð, where he will talk about the history of the area, the people who lived there and the development of the summer house settlement. Particular attention will be paid to how the first summer houses were built in the area and how the pioneers began their summer stays there. The walk will start from Sléttuhlíð (C3)
The City of Hafnarfjörður is offering cultural and health walks every Wednesday evening this summer. Most of the walks take about an hour and start at 8 p.m., unless otherwise stated. The Cultural and Health Walks are a joint project by Hafnarborg, the Hafnarfjörður Folk Museum, the Hafnarfjörður Library and Healthy Hafnarfjörður. Participation is free and everyone is welcome.
